Zoom around South Island to save the local residents from the evil clutches of Dr. Eggman. 

Sonic The Hedgehog was a popular 1991 video game, and now you can enjoy the game on your phone. If you have played the game before, the feeling of nostalgia will bring you back to your childhood. The graphics and music are the same as the original, you can enjoy exploring the South Island with Sonic. Aside from the main game, you can try to be the fastest Sonic in the Time Attack Mode. 

You still start at Green Hill Zone, and each section has 3 acts in general, with the battle with Dr. Eggman in the final act. The instructions for the game are in the Help & Options section menu at the end of the line. Change the volume of the music and effects in the Settings menu. You can switch Spin Dash on or off in there as well, and you can also change how the joystick looks and feels in the game. 

The journey from start to finish is in a straight line, but Sonic can jump upwards or find a secret tunnel by doing a spin dash. The little robots used to be the local animals, when you spin dash against it, it will destroy the robot to free the animal within. If you miss the timing, Sonic will lose his rings. 

The left D-pad is the direction pad, Sonic can go forwards and backwards as well as jump up and down in the game. If he looks as if he is pushing at something, you are stuck and will have to back up before jumping up. If there are secret tunnels, Sonic will be able to dig through the brown dirt to arrive at a secret room. 

To jump, tap on the right D-pad. To do a rolling spin attack, tap down on the D-pad to initiate. You will hear a higher pitch whirling when the rolling spin attack or spin dash happens. For Spin Dash, hold down on the left D-pad, while and tap in the right D-pad. Sonic will start to spin in place until you release the left finger. He will shoot forward, and it is a good way to loop-de-loop or speed past things. 

If you have Tails, keep tapping the right button while in the air to spin Tail’s special tail. Keep tapping to stay in the air as Tails will keep spinning his tail. You can climb and glide as Knuckles. To glide, hold the jump button after Knuckle jumps to glide, and you climb the wall by gliding to a wall and move up and down it. 

You have 3 chances to finish the act, your lives are on the top right corner next to the pause button. On the left, you have your score and a timer. The rings are essential in the game, because you need at least one to stay in the game when you get hit. Collect the rings as you go, save your progress by running past a Lamppost. Get more rings from the little bonus boxes, and when you get 100 rings, you gain an extra life. 

Power-Ups

There are 5 types of power- ups on the map, inside little boxes. Break the boxes to gain the power-up. Aside from extra rings, you have shield that protects you from enemies for a little while, while Invincible power up will destroy Dr. Eggman’s creations and free the animals. But both will not save Sonic if he falls down a gap or drowns in water. The Sneaker power-up makes Sonic run faster for a little while. A box with Sonic’s face will give you an extra life when you break it. 

Playing the Game 

At the end of every zone, you have to battle Dr. Eggman and his creations. You do that by doing spin dashes and roll jumping on his machines when the time is right. Be careful as if Dr. Eggman’s missiles hit you, you will lose rings. Jump to avoid the bombs and missles that he throws at you, and attack when there is an opening.
