Fry, Boil, Bake your way into your guest’s stomach in Toca Kitchen 2

In Toca Kitchen 2, there are 3 different characters you have to feed in your kitchen. There’s a man, a woman, and a monster who needs to learn better manners. There is a vegetarian option if you want a meat- free setting, but having it off is more fun. 

The kitchen consists of a fridge on the left, your guest in the middle, and the cooking area on the right. Your goal in the game is to feed hungry people food, there is no point system or currency in the game because it is aimed at children. Select a guest you want to serve and the game will start. 

What’s In The Fridge?

The blue spiky fruit next to the broccoli is the monster's favorite food. Fruits in Toca Kitchen 2 are pineapple, apple, strawberry, orange, watermelon, tomato and pear. The vegetables are broccoli, potato, onion, carrot, corn and lettuce. There is also rice and pasta in the fridge. If you have the vegetarian option off, you will see fish, prawns, sausage, steak, chicken drumstick and an octopus leg in the fridge too. 

Cooking Options

Toca Kitchen 2 offers a chopping board, a juicer, a frying pan, a pot of boiling water, a deep fryer and an oven. You can mix and match cooking methods usually, but once you use the juicer, the food will end up in the cup for you to serve to your guest. Otherwise, you can chop up your ingredients to fry, boil or bake before serving. 

Selecting the round salt and pepper picture will bring out the condiments bar in front of your guest. There are 4 plates on the left, then you have pepper, salt, a wedge of lemon, soy sauce, tabasco sauce, tomato sauce and oil. You can use these to add flavor to your dish before serving it to your waiting guest. The condiment bar is also available when you are preparing the food, so you can easily season your steak while cooking. 

Creating Tasty Dishes

Toca Kitchen 2 allows you to add multiple items together in the cooking process. Simply drag what you want onto the table, then put them on the plate. There are 4 plates, one for each ingredient. You can drag the food to the juicer, and the machine will do the rest. You can also chop them on the chopping board, then transfer them back onto the plate so you can cook them on the pan or oven. 

If you add too much pepper into the food, your character will sneeze! Adding too much tabasco sauce will cause your poor guest to cry out because the food is spicy. It is fun to experiment how different mixtures will cause different reactions. You can create your own recipe, and your guest will react after eating them. 

Some reactions are funny, like sneezing and crying out. But more extreme reactions like fainting can happen if the food tastes too bad. Feeding your characters too much can also cause them to burp, which is funny to watch. This is a good time to talk about the importance of table manners, and why it is not polite to belch and burp in front of people.

To serve tasty dishes to your guest, first select the ingredients from the fridge. There are 4 plates for you to place the ingredients on. But you can leave the ingredients on the table if the plates are full. While you can cut and cook the ingredients together, they will separate into different plates when you take them out.  

Once you have all the elements ready, you can pile on the cooked food on the plate in front of the guest. The guest will show either interest if the food looks appetizing, frown if the food is not to their liking, they will also show a scared face if they see that your food is different. Toca Kitchen 2 allows you to experiment cooking and mixing different foods that you would not otherwise try.
