Show off your driving skills and race with real people in Mario Kart Tour

Mario Kart Tour is a kart racing game with your favourite Nintendo characters like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and more. If you have a Nintendo account, you can choose to play as yourself as a Mii character. The game has upbeat theme songs that can make you excited about your first race. First, you can choose how to play: portrait or landscape, or auto-rotate. 

To start, the game teaches you how to steer and teaches you basics on how to play. Once you figure out how to play, you can change the control methods at the settings page. Go to Menu at the bottom right, then select Settings to see the options like Manual Drift, Smart Steering and Auto- items. 

If you are confident about your driving skills, you can switch on manual drift, and switch smart steering off so you can drive into secret places easier. Auto-items should be off if you want to save them for a better time, or the game will use items as soon as you open the box. 

The game counts down at the starting position, and your position on the race is determined by position points. The more games you win, your position at the start of the race improves. To do a rocket start, hold your finger on the screen when the countdown goes to two, release your finger as soon as it reaches Go, and see your kart zoom forward. If you are unsuccessful, your kart’s flare in the exhaust will disappear and the kart will slow down.

Steer with the joystick on the left, or by using the tilt function. Swipe up on the right panel to throw the items to the front; swipe back to leave them at the back. When you are in first place, swiping backwards will be a better idea to slow your enemies down. 

Your character will dance and do special moves when you are in the air. That gives you additional points and contributes to combo building. Every trick move in the race gives you extra points. Drifting, gliding and using boost pads and ramps are usual ways you can gain bonus points, overtaking your opponents and grabbing items from a box will also count. 

Currency

Coins are the general currency for common karts, gliders and characters in the game. Rubies are the premium currency to buy better ones. You can also use rubies to fire the pipe to gain random items. The tickets allow you to take part in special events, so it is a currency to enter special races. 

You can buy rubies with real money, or by winning special events. Currency helps you collect more characters, karts and gliders, so you can have advantage against other players. Some characters have special abilities, and they can help you win races. 

Experience Points 

At the top left corner, the bar shows your experience level. Each player level unlocks special rewards and placement point boost. There are 4 types of engine in the game: 50cc, 100cc, 150cc and 200cc. To get access to the most powerful 200cc engine, keep racing to gain experience points. 

You need to be within the top 3 to have experience points, and replaying the same course will earn you fewer experience points. The game encourages you to explore the different race courses by giving you more points when you win on the first try. Try not to quit or come in last, because you can lose your points. 

Aside from your experience points, you can level up your characters, karts and gliders too. You level up your tools by using a level- boost ticket, which you win through log-in bonuses and shop. When you gain the same drivers, karts or gliders, they will merge to increase the level, so you will always have only one of each item in the menu. Better tools increase the chances of point boosts and frenzy. 

Frenzy mode is when you have 3 of the same item from the box, which gives you special abilities for a short time. When you have frenzy mode, you are invincible, and you can keep using the item as it circulates around you without limits, and you can do mini Turbo- Boosts easier.
