About Crayola Create and Play

Hatch your own dragon companion and color to your heart's content in Crayola Create and Play

When you start the game, the welcoming music makes you excited to explore the world of Create and Play. Immerse yourself in a colorful world of Crayola Create and Play, where you can use different mediums to create artwork that you are happy with. At the start of the game, you are given an egg to draw on. After you hatch your first pet in the tree, your Crayon Guide will explain more about what to do next.

You have to complete 2 different artwork before the Crayon Guide lets you roam around the Crayola World. First is the coloring in, and the second one is the pixel art. Crayon Guide will appear in a new area. Crayola Create and Play has 3 levels: the ground floor with a fountain, underground caves and the cloud city in the sky. There are arrows to show you that there are more places to explore in the map.

If you are lost or in a rush to get to your favorite art, tap on the map icon next to the alien icon on the top right corner. From the navigation menu, activities are sorted by type. You can sort out crayons into their respective boxes, coloring in, or make your own color.

In the coloring section, you can select the medium by tapping on the circle at the center. There are color pencils, marker pens, crayons and many more. This section is free hand, so it will take some patience if you want to color within the lines, but the picture will not go out of the principal lines. You can zoom in by pinching or widening your fingers on the screen. When you are done with the picture, tap on the blue tick button on the left to save the picture.

There is no limit to what you can use in a painting. You can mix and match the mediums and they will appear differently. Using different tools will create different effects, so you have a complete set of art tools, and no worries on storage space.

Learn and Play

Crayola Create and Play also introduces word and counting here, because you learn better when you are having fun. You can learn about mixing colors and the results, counting and spelling. The app also teaches you how to write by letting you spray paint the letters.

Creative Play

Before you can play with a unicorn, first you must create one! Paint your own unicorn using a pixel stamper or pourer. For pixelated art, you will not be able to color over the line. When you are happy with your creation, tap on the tick and the 3D printer will print out your unicorn. Once the unicorn is released from its canister, you can drag it around Crayola City. Create more pixelated arts and use them to make up cool stories.

Crayola and Mathematics

Aside from spelling and writing, Crayola teaches basic mathematics via sorting and stacking. There are games to encourage color and pattern matching, which are important for logical thinking in a child. The top bar is the amount of robots that you need to match with the same pattern, and when you get it right, the robot's eyes will turn into tiny hearts.

Currency and Gallery

There is no currency in Crayola Create and Play. It is a subscription-based program as it will keep updating with new images to color. The subscription unlocks more outlines that you can color or pixelate. You can access the gallery of your work via the map icon, and the outlines are sorted by types such as pets, sports, nature, etc. From the gallery, you can return to your previous artwork to redo or refine your painting.

Crayola Create and Play combines art with learning, and it gives you plenty of tools to create a masterpiece that you can be proud of. Learn how colors work, and how different mediums will have a different effect when you combine them.
